The School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus<\/strong> successfully hosted its flagship event, THEMIS \u2013 6th Moot Court Competition, 2026<\/strong>, from 27 to 29 March 2026.<\/p>

The competition featured an impressive prize pool of Rs. 3,00,000, along with individual awards for Best Speaker, Best Researcher, and Best Memorial<\/strong>. The 2026 moot proposition focused on contemporary and pressing issues in constitutional law, federalism, and data governance<\/strong>, encouraging participants to engage deeply with evolving legal challenges.<\/p>

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 30 teams<\/strong>, including more than 10 National Law Schools<\/strong> from across India, reinforcing its status as a prominent national-level moot court competition. The preliminary and quarter-final rounds were adjudicated by experienced faculty members and advocates from across the country, ensuring a high standard of evaluation.<\/p>

The semi-final rounds were judged by Md Zafar Imam<\/strong>, former Principal Judge and former Presiding Officer of the Debt Recovery Tribunal, and Pankaj Kapoor<\/strong>, Director of Quadraant Legal<\/strong>.
The final round was judged by an esteemed panel comprising Hon\u2019ble Justice Ashim Kumar Roy<\/strong>, former High Court Judge and former Lokayukta; Prof. (Dr.) Jyotsna Yagnik<\/strong>, former Principal Judge and Pro Vice-Chancellor; and Prof. (Dr.) Subir Kumar Roy<\/strong>, Professor and former Officiating Registrar of a State University. Their expertise and insights significantly enriched the competitive experience for all participants.<\/p>

National Law University, Jodhpur<\/strong> emerged as the winner of THEMIS 2026, while Institute of Law, Nirma University<\/strong> secured the runner-up position.<\/p>

The competition concluded with a grand valedictory ceremony graced by the Former Chief Justice of India, Hon\u2019ble Justic Uday Umesh Lalit<\/strong>, whose presence added prestige to the occasion and served as an inspiration to the participants.
