The 1st Dexon Global Arbitral Award Writing Competition, 2026

Dexon Global Centre for Institutional Peacebuilding, ODR, Mediation and Arbitration Training is pleased to announce the inauguration of its 1st Dexon Global Arbitral Award Writing Competition, 2026 — a rigorous legal simulation exercise designed to cultivate adjudicatory reasoning, doctrinal precision, and the practical application of international arbitration law among emerging legal professionals.

About the Competition

Unlike conventional moot court exercises or academic research competitions, this initiative presents participants with a structured dispute resolution simulation governed by the SIAC Arbitration Rules, 2025. Participants are required to assume the role of a sole arbitrator or arbitral tribunal and produce a complete, reasoned arbitral award — a task that demands not only legal knowledge but also the capacity for sound judicial analysis, structured legal writing, and principled decision-making.

The competition is intended to bridge the gap between theoretical legal education and the practical demands of international commercial arbitration practice.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students currently enrolled in the following programmes at any recognised institution:

  • 3-Year LL.B.
  • 5-Year Integrated LL.B.
  • LL.M.

Participation is permitted on an individual basis or as a team of two (2).
